Suji ka Halwa is a very famous and favorite recipe in India. It is a sweet dish and Suji is called semolina in English.In India, this recipe is mostly eaten as Prasad during puja or any festival.While making Prasad for puja, it is mostly made in Ghee.
It is made as Prasad by frying it in ghee and then adding dry fruits, banana and cardamom inside it.In Maharashtra it is mostly made in the worship of Satyanarayan. In Maharashtra it is called Sheera and in other states of India it is called Suji ka Halwa.
Suji(Semolina) ka Halwa (Hindi: Suji ka Halwa Urdu: سوجی کا حلوہ) is a type of halwa made by roasting semolina (called Sooji, Semolina or Rava) in fat such as ghee or oil and adding sweeteners such as sugar syrup. goes. Honey. It can be served for breakfast or as a dessert.
The basic recipe is made with only semolina, sugar or honey, ghee and sometimes milk. Its variations include dried or fresh fruits, nuts, shredded coconut and other toppings. Milk may be added, as well as toppings such as almonds, pistachios, and pine nuts. Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq’s 10th-century cookbook includes varieties made from carrots, apples, and dates.
According to some scholars, this dish was brought to India by the Mughals, but the theory was discredited as it was already listed as Shali-Anna, in present-day Kesari Balla, Manasolasa, A 12th-century work by the South Indian Chalukya king, Someshvara III.
In 14th-century Spain, semolina was cooked with almond milk, oil, and optionally saffron for coloring. In India, Sheera is made from semolina, ghee and sugar; Cardamom and milk, almonds and cashews are added.
By what name is semolina called at different places?
-In Marathi, pudding made from semolina is called Rava Sheera. When similar pudding is prepared from Wheat Flour it is called Gavhachya Peetacha Sheera.
In Hindi it is called Semolina Halwa.
In South India this dish is currently called saffron bat.
In Myanmar (Burma), this dish is called sanwin makin.
In the Caribbean, it is known as Mohan Bhog or simply Prasad by Indo-Caribbeans, as it is a common sweet that Hindu Indo-Caribbean people offer as Prasad in worship. In some parts of Tulunadu it is called Sajjige.

How To Make Suji Ka Halwa | Semolina Halwa | Semolina Sweet Dish
Ingredients:-

1) Semolina – 1 Cup
2) Desi Ghee – 1 Cup
3) Cashew Nuts – 10 to 12 nos
4) Almonds – 10 to 12 nos ( Chopped)
5)Pistachios – 10 to 12 nos ( Chopped)
6) Raisins – 30 to 35 nos
7) Green Cardamom – 10 to 12 nos ( Powdered)
8) Banana – 1 nos
9) Sugar- 7 to 8 tsp
10) Milk – 400 Gms
11) Tulsi ( Basil ) leaves – 5 to 6 nos
Instructions:-

- To make semolina halwa, first of all we will put a pan on the gas. And in this we will add a bowl of ghee and as soon as the ghee melts, we will add a bowl of semolina in it.
- Fry the medium flame for at least 5 minutes while Stirring semolina.Now we have to add our dry fruits like cashew nuts, almonds, raisins, charoli etc. Fry it for 2 minutes.
- Now we will put a finely chopped banana inside it. Now we will also fry the banana while stirring for 2 minutes until its aroma comes out.
- Now pour 300 to 400 ml hot milk in the pan slowly slowly and keep stirring with a spoon with one hand so that there are no lumps in it.
- Now add 6 to 7 spoons of sugar in it or as per your requirement of sweetness as per your requirement. Mix well and let the dissolve Sugar with Semolina in the Pan.
- Add half tsp Cardamom powder in it, Mix it well.
- Add pinch of salt in it, Mix it well.
Cardamom will give a very good flavor and salt will give a very good taste in our Halwa - Now we will cover the halwa with a lid and cook it on low flame for 5 minutes.
- When you remove the lid after 5 minutes, our halwa will be cooked very well. After 5 minutes, we removed the lid and our Suji ka Halwa was completely ready to eat .
- Now we will put all this in a plate and garnish it with some dry fruits and garnish it with some basil leaves.
- Now we will first offer it to God and then we will distribute it as Prasad or eat it ourselves.
