In India Potato Stuffed Bell Peppers (Bharva Shimla Mirch) is one of several stuffed vegetable dishes.It consists of Bell Peppers stuffed with cooked meat, Potatoes, and Onions and seasoned with Chili, Turmeric, Coriander, Cilantro, Salt, and Lemon Juice. The Peppers are then either browned in a tava (frying pan) or baked in an oven until the peppers are scorched.

Mirchi Bajji or Pakora is a chaat item and is a hot favorite during the monsoon and cooler months. In Mumbai and western areas, the big Green Chilli Pepper is stuffed with a roasted, spiced flour mix and fried. In the South, the big Green Chillies,are dipped in a flour batter and fried.

It may be accompanied by chutneys and sauces.some of the smaller but more potent chillies are also stuffed and fried, especially as a side to rice.
Similarly, we are also sharing the recipe of Potato Stuffed Bell Peppers Capsicum(Papper or Shimla Mirch)

Potato Stuffed Bell Pepper

Potato Stuffed Bell Peppers (Capsicum)

Ingredients:-

1) Green Capsicum- 6 Medium size
2) Boiled Potatos- 4 Medium size
3) Oil- 3.5 tbsp
4) Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
5) Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 tsp
6) Coriander Powder- 1/2 tsp
7) Chat Masala- 1 tsp
8) Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
9) Salt- to teste
10) Ajwain- 1/4 tsp
11) Green Chillies- 4 (chopped)
12) Garlic Cloves – 4 (chopped)
13) Onion -1 (fine chopped)
14) Coriander Leaves – fine chopped

Instruction:-

1) First of all, we will take 4 medium sized boiled potatoes in a bowl and peel them . now mash the potatoes.

2) Now add Onion -1 (fine chopped),Green Chillies- 4 (chopped),Garlic Cloves – 4 (chopped),Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp,Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 tsp,Coriander Powder- 1/2 tsp, Chat Masala- 1 tsp, Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp, Salt- to teste, Ajwain- 1/4 tsp,Coriander Leaves – fine chopped in it and Mix it Well.

3) Now we will put this prepared filling in a pan and stirring the filling well for 5 Minutes by adding some oil so, that the rawness of the spices we have put in this filling will come out. The filling is ready.

4) Cut off the tops of the Bell Pappers and remove the seeds to make a hollow for the stuffing. Reserve the tops as you will need these to cover the Bell Pappers while frying.

5) Apply Little salt on the inner side of Bell Peppers (Capsicum) with the help of fingers. Now stuff each Bell Pappers (Capsicum) with the filling that we have prepared and place the tops back and lock it properly with the help of toothpick.

6) Now we will keep the pan on the gas to heat and put two spoons in it. As soon as the oil becomes a little hot, we will gradually put all the Bell Pappers(Capsicum) stuffed in it one by one. Now we will cover it and let it cook on medium gas. After 5 Minutes we will lift the lid and cook it from the other side. After 5 minuted we will turn off the gas.

7) So, Potato Stuffed Bell Peppers( Capsicum) is ready to eat so now we will serve it in a plate and garnish it nicely.

8) You can eat it with Roti, Chapati or Paratha’s.
