How To Make Palak Paneer Recipe.(Cottage Cheese and Spinash Curry) Palak paneer(Cottage Cheese and Spinash Curry)or Palak Chhena is an Indian dish consisting of paneer (cottage cheese) in a thick paste made from puréed spinach, called Palak in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and other Indian languages.

The terms Palak Chhena and Saag Chhena are sometimes used interchangeably in restaurants in the Anglosphere. However, Saag Chhena is different from traditional Palak Chhena in that it contains other green leafy vegetables, such as mustard greens, whereas Palak paneer only contains spinach. Palak Paneer, an evergreen delicacy from north India, is perhaps one of the most interesting ways to include spinach in your meal.

Palak paneer is served hot with a side such as Roti , Naan , Paratha . It can also be served with onions on the side for a more traditional approach. In recent years, there have been fusion variations of Palak Paneer. In July 2020, a Bangalore-based food blogger posted her variation of Palak Paneer  idli.

INGREDIENTS:-

  1. Palak / spinach :- 1 Bunch.
    2. Ginger(finely chopped):- 1 Inch.
    3. Garlic (finely chopped) :- 4 Cloves.
    4. Green Chillies (finely chopped):- 5 nos.
    5. Oil:- 4 tsp.
    6. Butter:- 2 tsp.
    7. Paneer Cubes / Cottage Cheese – 250 Grams.
    8. Cumin:- 1 tsp.
    9.Cinnamon:- 1 Inch.
    10. Bay Leaf / Tej Patta :- 5 leafs.
    11. Kasuri Methi / Dry Fenugreek Leaves:- 2 tsp.
    12. Onion (finely chopped):- 1 no.
    13. Tomato (finely chopped):- 1 no.
    14. Salt to taste.
    15. Garam Masala:- 1/2 tsp.

INSTRUCTIONS:-

1) To make the Palak Paneer Recipe blanch the spinach in a vesselful of boiling water for 5 to 6 minutes after that drain the water and keep aside cool for sometimes. After it cools down,squeeze all the water from the spinach. Now make a smooth paste without adding any water. keep aside.

2) Now in a large kadai heat 4 tsp oil, 1 tsp butter and roast the spices(Cumin:- 1 tsp ,Cinnamon:- 1 Inch, Bay Leaf / Tej Patta :- 5 leafs) till it turns aromatic.
further, add Garlic (finely chopped) :- 4 Cloves, Ginger(finely chopped):- 1 Inch, add 1 chopped onion , Green Chillies (finely chopped):- 5 nos, add and saute till it turns golden brown, add 1 chopped tomato and sauté till the tomatoes turn soft. add prepared palak paste, Fry the spinach paste well in oil. When spinach starts leaving oil, add water to it.add water as per your consistancy now add salt as per taste. mix well adjusting consistency as required.

3) Now add roasted paneer and mix well. Simmer for 10 minutes or till paneer absorbs flavour. add 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp kasuri methi and 2 tbsp cream. mix well. turn off the flame.
finally, serve restaurant-style Palak Paneer and enjoy with your family.
